A friend wrote this and I just couldn't stop balling while reading it. The line "some have tasted death before they lived" reminds me of the book I just finished for the second time "All Quiet On The Western Front" if you haven't read it. READ IT.
"They are serving this great Nation at home and in foreign lands. Some are wearing its uniform this moment way out there in the sand. Many are in dark and scary places with their brothers by their side. Some have tasted death before they lived, yet they gave it all with pride. Many come back hurting from wounds that cannot be seen, but if you look deep into their eyes you will see just what I mean. Not for glory do they risk their lives each day, but for love of God and country and all for little pay. To those of you who we elect to write our nations laws, will you consider all who've served and may it give you pause. For could you follow in their steps to accomplish what they do, and would you take their dying place if your country called you to.
